Ya, that's a debate thing. A lot of Christians believe Judas got to go to Heaven because he was just simply a pawn. But the fact is, Judas wasn't a pawn. He wasn't forced into doing it. He WANTED to do it. You see, it was prophecied that the Son of God would be betrayed be one of the closest people to him, but prophecying doesn't seal fate. There is no fate. Judas wasn't forced into doing it, he wasn't a pawn. He DID IT. Jesus also TOLD PETER that Peter would deny Jesus three times before the rooster crowed that night. That night he STILL denied Jesus three times. It's so weird like that. When something is prophecied it's going to happen, but it's not going to happen BECAUSE it was prophecied, do you know what I mean? I mean, I could prophecy that ... I'm going to eat chicken for dinner and get to bed late tonight... but I was going to do that even before it was prophecied, regardless of whether it was prophecied or not.
But anyway, to quote Jesus' final prayer before Judas came to betray him (and it's a LONG prayer. He prays for everyone from himself to the diciples to all believers, the prayer alone is an entire chapter):
"While I was with them [the Disciples], I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled."
So... everyone's good to go except poor Judas. And I truly feel horrible that that's how it worked out for him. So from now on, instead of saying "Thank you Jesus" (not like I ever did before, since I'm not black) I'm going to say "Thank you Judas" and tell other people to thank Judas because his was the truly horrible story.
Jesus even TOLD Judas specifically that Judas was going to betray him. It says at that moment Satan entered into him... So there you go, you understand it just about as much as I do... but poor Judas... poor, poor Judas.
