I'd just like to say that I think it is really great that some of you in your late teens/early 20s have not been so completely and irrevocably contaiminated by acedemia that you are incapable of seeing the hipocracy of liberalism.
Thing is, I don't much care what color or sex or weight anyone is. What I don't like, are little lobbies of some new 'minority' group that force me to change the way I talk, the way I think, the way I do business.
Harvard law school is thinking about introducing a 'speech code' that would be enforcable by expulsion. So, if you were to say something that some group found offensive you could be kicked out. So, let me see if I get this straight. The First Amendment applies to everyone...so long as they agree with you? Malcom X preached violence and that was ok because it was freedom of speach, Jesse Jackson called NY Himey Town and that was freedom of speech, but if I suggest that affirmative action is racism that is NOT freedom of speech?
The only way to sell something no one wants it to stop the stuff people do want from being sold. That's why Daschel is all upset about the so-called conservative radio talk shows. He doesn't mind when Tom Brokaw spins the news with liberal mastery, or the Boston Globe only prints articles that praise liberals...but WHOA! you can't use conservative talk on the radio...that's too partisan and dangerous.
Go get "When I Was Young, This Was a Free Country" by G. Gordon Liddy. Read it.
Cracker = OK
Ni**er = NOT OK
I see. While they are BOTH horid terms...how is one ok, but the other not?
Discrimination (per webster): the process by which two stimuli differing in some aspect are responded to differently.
And...so how is affirmative action not this?
