We should all do something against TCPA

Postby James S » Dec 12, 2002 @ 5:55am

How many more lame acronyms can they come up with? After this one they should be spent!

But I plan on being dead soon, or not caring, so it doesn't really matter. It's bad, but I'm all out of fluff as that orange bear thing that likes honey would say... what's his name? I always forget his name. I remember Eeyor because he's cool, but that bear... he's always out of fluff.

I think there's nothing we can do. It's not the software pirates' fault, though. I think it's just MS's plan to become the communist government of computers and the internet, software pirating is just their excuse and means of getting Intel and the government to back them up.

Ah it's not MY government its the dollar's government.

The uneducated masses will always win out in an election. And whoever advirtises the most wins the uneducated masses votes. Whoever has the most money advirtises the most, and whoever controls the money controls the government itself. Whoever controls the government in turn controls the comsumer, and therefore controls the profits, and the circle starts again. Thats why public elections is in and of itself *NOT* reflective of the will of the people. No I don't have a better system, so I don't complain. I was being sarcastic in my last post. Just in case you thought the NMASRDNGLLCCCOAB was real, but since you asked...

That's why as soon as I can I'm out of the U.S. Unless I decide to go to Columbia for college (and get in, of course), I'm prolly gonna go somewhere else, thinking maybe Canada, England, or Australia...

I've seen some very good posts here. And the only thing that I have to add is:"WE CAN STOP THIS !"

If not we (The users), then who else could stop this? We're the ones that should buy and use this s**t. So we have to inform people about this, before too much is sold. That's the language companies understand worldwide: If they can't sell it, they can't make money and they're forced to change something.

NinthOption wrote that we have to fight back "more physical" as I understand his posts. I think he's very right with that. No, we don't have to harm anyone. But we need to show physical presence. Some first big presence will be done at Cebit 2003. First discussions are going on some german websites against all this insane "NMASRDNGLLCCCOAB". So we WILL have possibilities to show 'em that we not eat everything they serve us. And then the general press will get more into this... And then we can see further...

So I think everyone who has the abilities to inform about AgainstTCPA.com should do this. The reason is not to type some "I don't like this". The reason is to build up a userbase that's large enough to coordinate some targeted campaigns...

Greets,
Michael Ritter

First off.. it's clearly obvious that our say is weighted MUCH less than the RIAA, MPAA, MS etc. Look at that travesty of a decision from the anti-trust case.. until we can all give millions of dollars of donations, forget about doing anything.

Buying other software? Won't work. Majority of the market doesn't want to, and doesn't care.

With Palladium, you can have it set up so that any non-Palladium computer will be REJECTED from accessing anything, websites, files, etc. You can bet this will be on by default to "secure" computers.

MS DOES want to control EVERY packet. It's on it's way right now.

You guys must live in a scary world to think you can't possibly do anything. Quit whining, why don't you "advertise" the most by demonstrating infront of the whitehouse? Bring some firecrackers, then you'll get on the news and have the attention of the secret service! *snicker* :D

Moose, why do you pretend not to know names all the time? Is it that you don't want to be associated with such childish things? Examples: winny the pooh, doogie houser, and some others I can't remember. You obviously know pooh's name, and you obviously knew doogie's name because you had it right, just backwards, and felt compelled to add the "or whatever his name is" afterwards. I know you're doing it because I used to do it, and I stopped when I realized how annoying it was.

PS what's fluff? and how was winny always out of it? I thought it was honey...

the fluff, the stuff inside of him. You know, all plush animals have fluff inside them. He was always complaining about being out of stuffing or fluffing or fluff ... one of them was.

I do it because I think it's cute sometimes, thats all. Howzer Dookie is because that was the teen doctor on that one episode of Simpsons. Forgetting whiney's name is because I really did forget his name once and it was kind of humorous, at the time anyway. Sort of an inside joke, I like to make myself laugh, that's all.

now CARE BEARS ROCKED! They're BRINGING THEM BACK, TOO! I saw them in KB-Toys in the mall the other day! And that little girl that road the unicorn, darn it I really do forget her name. And My Little Pony, and Smurfs. All those good old cartoons. Powerrangers and stuff corrupts kids, it's pathetic. Care Bears were COOL!
