OK, I'm 99% sure it's the right card. Here's a picture of the 9700 pro from hexus.net:

Here's a picture of the 9500 you just bought from newegg:

As you can see, the board design looks exactly the same.

Well, looks like some people are getting artifacts even with the software mod, probably since ATI didn't test all 8 rendering pipelines for the Radeon 9500s they make and some might be defective. From what I can see, the unmodified 9500 isn't really that good.

Instead, I found this card (ABIT Siluro Ti4200 64 MB with OTES):

Because ABIT is so confident in the cooling system, the card is overclocked to the speeds of a Ti4400 by default; many people got it go to 310/610 or so which is barely slower than a Ti4600.

Here's a review:

Looks like a very nice deal, especially for $130. Only problem is the noise generated by the 7200 rpm blower, but it shouldn't be too bad.

Oi! My desktop is louder than my CAR! I've got to get my water cooling setup working again so I can quiet it down. Got to order whole new waterblocks and pumps and reservoirs because my equipement is old, antiquated, and I don't trust it anymore. But my radiator is still the top of the line and it's the most expensive piece, so I'm happy!
