Why are people so offended by...

Being religious doesn't mean placing all unknown things on God. I'm constantly learning about time travel, the big bang, evolution, all of that. There are biological substances in the body that have been shown to 'miraculously' cure cancer patients.

They've sound a TON of stuff out about nature and how it works.

(Back to my line I love so much :D)
I have the equation for gravity in my science book, but that doesn't mean it is any less awesome a force.
(Translation)
Just because we understand how God works some of the time doesn't mean there is no God.

PS. I won't get into time travel and why it slows when we speed up. If you'd like to start a new thread I'd be glad to share my understand of it.
Oh, and ya, he does look into our thoughts. Our hearts = our thoughts. Character is in our hearts, our thoughts spring from what kind of character we have.

Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

Jesus saved us all from the cycle of sin.

Back in the hey-day people would sacrifice animals to forgive their sins. Well animals are not exactly the perfect sacrifice because they're 'unclean.'
Jesus was perfectly clean, he never sinned. He was perfect, the perfect sacrifice. He died, and since he's the perfect sacrifice we can all use Him as our sacrificial 'lamb' (the lamb was the cleanest animal that people sacrificed back in the hey-day). It's because Jesus was so clean and pure that He can act as everyone's sacrificial offering to forgive our sins.

And about the 'points' thing. It's not like that. It's nothing tangible or even status type thing. It's just a fulfillment thing.

Anoth, yes we still sin, but Jesus was the perfect sacrifical offering so we can put our sins on Jesus through prayer and confession and He takes them away. Just like back in the hey-day when people would send their sins away by sacrificing animals. It's similar.

Jesus, because he defeated sin, He now has power over it so He can take it away. But we have free will to ask Jesus to take away our sins or not. We have to ask Jesus to take away our sins, that's it.

Warren, God sent His Son to earth in order to be killed. "For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only Son..." Yes He was extremely sad on the day Jesus died. Jesus yelled out, "Father, why have you forsaken me," with His dying breath and the skies opened up, the earth shook, the curtain in the temple seperating the Holy place in the temple and the place where people are tore in two (most important part!), and many holy men were brought back to life and appeared to many in the Holy City. Tombs were broken, rocks split ... God mourned! That's AMAZING to me, that God actually mourned.

--

On an old topic, little children up to a certain age are pure and do not sin. If a child under this age dies then they go to Heaven, that's great!

The Holy Roman Empire was formed 800 years later by the French king Charlemange.

I suggest you all start reading books on world mythologies and paralell myths, religious rituals and where they came from, books on ancient Middle Eastern cultures and their religions (Egyptians, Babylonians, early Israelites and Caananites, Sumerians, ect.), if you want real understanding of Christianity and Judaism. Moose is so full of horse shit. The Bible (which is just a word for book in greek), is so full of myths, homeopathic and ritual magic, and a whole lot of rip-offs from other cultures. Just about every belief and custom in the Bible comes from other cultures. Almost all the myths are rip-offs from other ancient middle eastern cultures (flood, Adam and Eve, gods parting waters, magic staffs, ect.). Even God's main name in the Bible (Yahweh) was used by the caananites, way before the Israelites used it. Yahweh was the son of the high god El (yes another name for God in the Bible) in caananite mythology. If you have time to read about all this stuff, then do it. You will learn so much. Like the first religions to have the concept of a diety (a god) were GODDESS RELIGIONS! And the very first religious beliefs were not even made by homo sapiens! The very first religious beliefs were a belief in the spirits of the dead, and early man (I believe it was homo erectus) was the first to come up with the concept. I could go on and on, but go read for yourself.

I'm taking Old Testament as my history/religion class. You exaggerated SO MUCH it's sad. We've gone over all of that with no mercy, and I'm not closed minded.

It's was not called "The Holy Bible" back then. It was called the Meserated Text and Codex Aleppo(original Hebrew Version).

There was a canaanite religion that used the named "Yah" but that was after Judaism used "Yahweh" and after Jews were forced to the land by Hyksos raiders. ... "Yahweh" is translated as "Lord"
"El" is not the name of God in the Bible, either. It's "Elohim" which is translated as "God"

You're LOOKING for a way to discredit Christianity so you're making too big a deal about things. I studied the same things, got an A on the test about it all. It does not discredit Christianity or Judaism or anything...

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
