agreed. I wasn't trying to lambast you or say that you were wrong, I was just clarifying a point.
As for Saddam, you are QUITE RIGHT. In fact the reason we supported him against Iran was specifically because he was a member of the baath party, which is non-secular in nature...vs. the koo koo muslims in Iran.
There is most certainly a distinction insofar as the war in Afghanastan is targetting the 'enemy' directly, the one in Iraq is hitting their supply line to WMDs and the bonus points come from removing a decidely dangerous and violent individual from power.
