Okay, because you THINK somewhere in the Bible it says exactly 6,000 years you've just disproved the ENTIRE Bible? What an ass.
First of all, I cannot find anywhere in the Bible that it says the Earth is 6,000 years old. It counts decendants from Adam "Adam lived 930 years, Seth lived 912 years. Enosh lived 905 years. Kenon lived 910 years. Mahalalel lived 895 years..." Maybe that adds up to around 6,000 years when we get all the way to Jesus but that doesn't mean that the Earth is only 6,000 years old.
Second, who ever said that Genesis had to be taken literally. I mean it's an account of something that happened long before writing was created. And those 7 days. It never says in the Bible that those are the same time length that we call days. Those days could just be seperate phases between the time that God judged His work and rested a little before going on again.
DavidHorn, they've discovered the DeadSea scrolls, the original that is from the Bible, and the entire book of Exodus. They also have Jesus miraculous death shrowed. There are tons of places that have been certified miracles, such as where hundreds of people make a pilgrimage to every day to be healed and see visions of the Virgin Mary. It's almost become a theme park it's so popular. Noah's Ark has been sighted on Mount Ararat, for certain I don't know. Noah's adventure and a great flood is also recorded in many different regions of the world: China, South America, even some Native America stories. I've had lots of personal experiences with God too. On this one Church Camp I was apart of just this summer this girl I'm good friends with just suddenly broke out into a trance, spoke another language, and healed several people right there infront of me! And prayer works on a regular basis for me. My mom has been really sick this last week so I had some my friends pray for her, within an how she was feeling so much better that she got up and made us all brownies. The first time she was out of bed for a good while in days and she's still feeling just as good today.
I have a lot more to go on than "blind faith," but that's what faith IS. You don't understand. If there wasn't all this evidence I'd have even more faith, because faith is believing without proof. That's what God asks us to do.
