21 isn't old. I've got software that I wrote that is almost 10 years older than you.

yeah but if people were using cocaine to 'change their mood' a little, what would you be saying then?

no difference in my eyes. although i find the idea of using cannabis very appealing.

Cocaine tends to fuck people's lives/bodies up a lot more than alcohol... (yes, I know there are a lot more alcoholics, that's not my point)

Besides, nobody takes cocaine to socialize... different drugs work differently.

Also, alcohol seems to calm people (unless your Irish :) ), where as cocaine makes you hyper and energetic, and can make you stay up for days without feeling tired. The same with crystal meth, crank, and most all other 'uppers.'

Alcohol, marijuana, heroin, extacy, etc, make you mellow out, usually.

Shrooms, LSD, Acid, etc, on the other hand can make you both hyper and calm, not to mention the hallucinigenic effects.

I may be wrong about some of this stuff, as the only illegal drugs I have ever used is pot and somebody else's ritilin pills, and the rest I have either read about or talked to people who use or used them.

Oh and if you don't have ADD or ADHD, never take ritilin, as it does some pretty fucked up stuff to your body. When I used it, it would make me feel euphoric for about an hour, then I would feel terribly depressed and suicidal for about an hour, and then I would feel euphoric again. This cycle continues for 6 to 8 hours and then the really bad thing happens. All of the sudden your chest hurts really bad, like you are having a heart attack. It feels this way for a good 2 hours or so, and is quite painful. I did this when I was 14 with a friend and he had the exact same experiences, so don't mess with this shit, it's bad stuff. Pot on the other hand is quite enjoyable, but too expensive, illegal, and the paranoid feeling of being caught sucks. I did this stuff when I was 14 to 16. Man, I was dumb.

Just say no. :)

Cocaine has terrible physical/psychological effects that vastly overpower those of alcohol. Also, cocaine is far, FAR more addictive than alcohol. It's apples and oranges.

Chemical dependency after ONE DRINK is unbelievably rare if not impossible. After just one drink of alcohol, I find it ridiculously hard to believe that you are then CHEMICALLY addicted for the rest of your life.

The point is that alcohol, WHEN USED RESPONSIBLY, is not a bad thing. You seem to ignore that clause in all of our arguments whenever you retort, Moose.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.

It's not some simple clause, it's the basis of the entire debate. And my side of the debate is that that statement is not true.

So, er... how is it not true? I seem to have missed that in reading your arguments.

It's all apparently opinion anyway. But I just don't see any good coming from it.

And I have made my point, but I don't recall whether it was in this thread or the other one.
