You liken racists to institutional racism, which is a completely different thing. I lived in Texas and there were people that didn't like me much because I am Italian and Catholic (at the time). Boo frickity hoo...I suppose I should have demanded reperations in the form of 2 tins of kodiak and a hampster.
Racism in the individual is not something that can ever be erased. It is unfortunate that it is like that, but none the less, it is the way it is. Ironically, it is liberalism and racial pandering that has led people that I know to be racist, even if only in small ways. I still think that they are wrong, but they grew into racism over time.
