Unprecedented increase in average car's horsepower

Postby James S » May 14, 2005 @ 2:19pm

Yeah. This entire thread was about sports cars with around 2.0 Liters that are becoming ever more fast. Subaru's entire line-up is 2.0 +/- turbocharged. Most fast cars these days have small forced induction engines and weigh very little. That's the trick.

Like that Chevy truck with the hard top convertable. What's the name of that thing? The Chevy SS? It weighs something like 5700 pounds. It has some gigantic engine, near 6.0L I think, and it barely moves because it's so heavy. And for what reason?

I'm going to have to disagree with you, the SS 1500 Silverado with the Vortec 6l is very very fast. AWD and supercharged. 5700 isn't that heavy for a truck.

What speed?
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
