Odd, I've seen the most passion coming out of Brig in this thread.

The anti-fanboy is just as strong as the fanboy, it appears.

I'll probably buy a Wii even if it sucks; it's the only console within my price range. XB360 nor PS3 offer me nothing I want, or nothing I can't have (or a close facsimile thereof) Hell, most of the launch titles for XB360 either had PC ports, or were poor imitations of the PC version, which still goes on today. (CoD2, Q4, Oblivion, PD Zero is just a generic FPS, usual racing game, EA Sports which are on PC just slightly less pretty)

Come to think of it, the only game I desperately want for the XB360 is Fight Night Rd3.

As for the PS3 I can certainly live without Gran Turismo 978: THIS TIME WE'VE GOT SHINIER CARS, or MGS4. FF has always been a real fucking snoozefest, and although I'll miss Tekken, I've got a few good fighting games for my DS (and will eventually have Smash Bros Brawl)

So basically $600 for 2 games, $350 (or so is it?) for 1 game, or $200-$250 for at least 3. I think the choice is rather clear in this case.

The Wii definately won the hype at E3, no doubt about it. The reason? The controller. Thats it. The games merely served as a reason to show off what the controller can do.

Sure, the control mechanism has a lot of promise, and it'll draw in a lot of non-gamers, but from the games that got the most coverage, innovative games don't look like the main focus point. The truly unique games were completely overshadowed until I dug for em. For every ten sports games, theres only one . Actually, that was the only unique game I could find. I remember seeing a game totally in black and white, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I want the Wii to succeed as much as every other gamer, but it looks like the game support is going to go the route of the Gamecube.

As for the PS3, the console itself isn't very exciting, but the games are. Sure, the launch title lineup isn't particularly impressive, but I can't remember a console that had one. The same happened with the PS2. Even if you don't like the Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy series, theres still some very promising titles ( and ). Not to mention the numerous other developers that worked on PS2 games that haven't shown what they have in store.

And what about the countless developers who aren't showing their Wii games, or the countless devs that aren't showing some of their newer gen XB360 games? You can't use that as a reason for the PS3.

I'm not saying that the Wii or the Xbox360 won't have as many great games as the PS3 will, im just saying that the PS3 has the highest possibility of having more great games based on it's current market penetration from the PS2.

The Wii has a high chance of latching onto a lot more developers with its unique controller, but from what has been shown so far, the focus seems to be on just on a new way to control the same games you've played before, instead of using that unique control style to create some really unique games. Maybe the developers need to warm up with how the controller works, but I hope the games don't keep this trend.
