They're running now instead of before because now they actually have a chance. If they tried to run before then their goes your daughter off to be one of Saddam's son's sex slaves, or woops, daddy is shot by a firing squad. Of course they only think about running when freedom is in sight.
Please don't resort to such petty comments as "they must be hopelessly stupid." It only makes me want to retort with, "the only thing that's hopeless stupid is you," and that doesn't work to build a good argument. If you want intelligent debate then only give intelligent comments.
Also, that link, I still don't get it, it never says anything about how we're breaking Geneva Convention international war guidelines. It simply says "we are" and leaves it up to me to figure out how. I'm sorry I'm not as informed on this topic as some, but maybe you could shed some light onto this. What are we doing to Afghanni prisoners? And I also wonder (only technically, not that it makes a difference) if what we're doing in Afghanistan could be considered more of a police action than a military action. Again, it's only technical, it makes no difference on the Geneva Convention regulations.
