That was a hundred years ago, when Creationism didn't have an opposing view and didn't require material evidence. Evolution provided a somewhat tangible explanation in the right, liberal time in history. It provided people with what they wanted when they wanted it. Talk about religious, when y'all say religion was made by man to give them what they wanted when they wanted it.
Creation has more evidence now than it ever did before, too.
