Just adding my 2 eurocents.
I don't like the idea of invite-only. It would mean hardly anybody would get in. Sure, all the big posters [Moose, Trae] would get in, but us people with 200 or so posts might not - and new members would have to be here for months, perhaps years to get invited into the "inner circle" You'd only create two factions - in or out. Certainly wouldn't improve the atmosphere around here..
I like the idea of karma. I also visit gamefaqs.com and some of their forums are only open to people with a certain level of karma - works, but not all the time.
And turning off anon posting should be first on the list of improvements.
I think the idea of only certain users getting to see special threads is a good one. We could have a new lg thread.
