Second, Until our competitors start caring about the ecology of the world, should we deminish our economy and not be able to play economics on a level playing field? We alrealy have some of the strongest environmental standards in the world today. Most of our stuff is now produced in China. Do they have strong pollution legislation? What are they enforcing? This is a two sided coin that is very hard to balance. If we loose our place in global economy and weaken ourselves with too strengent pollution laws at this time, we will get a cleaner environment while the rest of the world gets more and more polluted and richer and richer. Look down the road. We will live in the best environment because of our laws and they will have all the power to be able to come and kill us and take it for themselves and then they will pollute it like they have the rest of the world. The end result is pollution either way. Education is good in reducing pollution, but it has to be evenly spread out over the whold globe or it is in vain. Blaming Bush for causing the pollution or for not doing more to stop pollution is a little unfair. Why don't you quit using electricty unless it's produced by wind or water. Quit using products produced by the petrolium industry like most plastics and automobiles and the such. That would give the president (any president) more lea-way to make these hard decisions with. Our consumption is the problem! Look in the mirror and gripe at yourself and gripe at me, we are to blame--not the office of president.
