Interesting, ive always seen HDTV as 1280x1024.

12x10? VGA is 1:3 if my math is correct. Just to note, even in 16:9 mode, some movies will still have a black border.

Those TV resolutions sound a bit off, however the closest thing I know are the VCD standards (352x240@29.97 NTSC and 352x288@25 PAL) so I can't comment on those.
