iPod

Because you have a PocketPC, too. That's why. Instead of hauling around two devices you have one. And who has more than 5GBs of MP3s, anyway? And if you do, then will you truly listen to all of them every time you're away. That's just insane, IMO.

I wouldn't call it hauling.

I have more than 5GB of MP3s, and I shouldn't have to 2nd guess what I'm going to listen to at any point. And $1000 is still a lot more than $200.

It's insane to you, but not insane to most people.

I didn't mean that Apple was bad... just that I'd prefer to give my money to Toshiba sooner than to Apple, that's all.

The comment you said about get the Toshiba for usb2.0...doesn't make sense. A firewire card is only $16 online, and considering that it is super fast, and serves also to power the ipod, i would think usb 2.0 on toshiba would be a turn off.

the ipod has a huge line of acessories and of course, it looks way better than that silly toshiba. go to

Firewire is still ages ahead of USB2.0 in speed.

This is kind of off topic but, that Firewire reminds me of one of those cheap Apple commercials were they have a person talk about their problems with a pc, and then how they switched. There was one where this guy explains he had a pc, and then he went to an elctronic store, and bought a digital video camera, then he asked a guy how do you do that thing where you connect your video camera to your computer, and transfer the videos, and he said the electronic store guy said "no, no they only do that stuff in hollywood." And then the guy says he bought a mac, and he simply connected the firewire from his video camera to his mac, and it uploaded.
I wonder how much Apple paid that guy to ruin his public image by doing that commercial?

To think you can't upload videos from a digital video camera to the computer......

It's been a while since I've read the article, but it would be noticable. My attempts at googling couldn't dig up the article.

I have no doubt that Firewire is faster... it's just, how fast do you really need to transfer MP3s? :/
