I have AT&T broadband as well, and it gets "officially" 1.5 megabits/second download, 300kbits/sec upload, but I've achieved greater than that for both. (the modem's hardware is capable of 3 megabits download and like something like 700k upload or something) I've heard that you can also hack your cable modem to unlock that 3 megabits, but I've heard of people getting caught and I like my broadband, I'm not willing to risk it being taken away ;). I often get up to 1000 times the download speed from KAZAA at home with AT&T broadband than I get at my college dorm LAN connection, even when using the same exact downloads/number of people. It's pretty sad. 1000 times. I've calculated it.
Die, Palm, Die. If that offended you, then get rid of your Palm OS device.

Ya, if you had an 8megabyte/second cable connection than you've got a faster backbone to the internet than 95% of the websites out there! It's not POSSIBLE to download at 8 megabytes/second because no servers can provide that fast a dedicated stream to a single IP address. You'd nuke a server just by visiting it!

I hate you all. 1mbit down, 128kbit up, and they enforce that as strict as can be.

... uhm, that's what I have. I'm not complaining. Ooh, except my upload speed is 64Kbits.

Meh, the MSN/CNET speed test is very inaccurate. Use the speed test (under "our tools") instead.
