I don't refuse to believe anything. I said before the inscription on it looks very fake. And I also said that if it's true then it verifies the significance of Jesus' life. I didn't say it proves every miracle he ever performed, as that artifact is completely unrelated.
I accept totally that those names are very common. I said that in my previous post! ARGH! YOU DON"T EVEN READ MY POSTS! They even found an ossuary "Jesus, son of Joseph" before. All three of those names are VERY common.
I'm not STUPID just because I believe God exists, you bigots.

What I said was, aside from being skeptical about it, was that if it is true, as a plethora of people have confirmed that it is, then it means that back when Jesus was alive the people thought Him to be very special and very important.

I have the Harper Collins Study Bible and the Harper Collins Bible Dictionary, also.

-----

randall, the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Aren't you the one that believes that there is a god and an afterlife but it doesn't really matter if you believe in him because as soon as you see him everyone will instantly believe and get to go to the afterlife? Isn't that EXACTLY the same thing!?

There is no more sin. God remembers our sins no longer. When we become Christian the Holy Spirit imprints those laws on our hearts and souls, He gives us a conscience pretty much and generally speaking. (Now you're going to say I think people without Christ don't have consciences, I can see all these lame comments coming ) This makes us want to follow God's commandments, it also gives us power to increase God's kingdom. People that have had Christ all along have gotten a lot of their reward on earth from living an easy life or other things. Those that have freshly converted don't know God's grace. "For it is by grace we have been saved, not by works so no man can boast." Jesus came "so that we may have life, and life to the fullest." We get that life here on earth as well as in Heaven. God has unending mercy, do you expect to get more mercy from Him just because you've known Him all along?

After losing a sheep, "does a shepherd rejoice over the many that have stayed or over the one found?"
The prodigal son that came home after stealing his inheritance from his father and spending it on hookers and gambling comes home. His father runs to him and embraces him when he sees him walking back home. His father orders that the finest, healthiest lamb be killed for a feast in honor of the returned son. The son that was there all along complains because he never did anything wrong in the first place but didn't receive such praise.

God shows the most love to those that have come back to him, to show them that they're welcome back. Those that have stayed with him always have received the gift of always being comfortable in his house, and in sharing in the feast when the lost return.

... WOW! Did I just say that?! God's giving me wisdom! see, see!!!

yeah randall thats always been my problem. basically you can repent on your death bed, say you love jesus and all that jazz and get in.

i think moose said that either:
a) god/jesus knows you're taking the piss and tells you to fuck off!
b) you get in, wahey!!
c) you get in, but come judgement day, jesus FINALLY decides to check if you were lying or not. good one, jeez.

You get in, wahey! It works great like that.

But come judgement day you stand before God with EVERYONE in Heaven watching. God flashes your entire life before you and everyone else in Heaven. "Every secret will become known." That's scary, and I disappoint myself all the time. I know as soon as I come up to God I'm going to scream out "I'm SORRY FOR MASTURBATING! AHHH!" :P Seriously though, that junk's scary! EVERYTHING, everyone will know it ALL. You're standing up there naked infront of God, your mind naked too.
But thanks to Jesus we get to go to Heaven if we claim Him as our sacrifice, our Lord and savior. WOOT! If not then everyone, every Christian, every aethiest, every EVERYBODY in the world would go to Hell for all eternity, there's no question about that.
