*downloads patch* Actually, I downloaded it this morning, but didn't test it. But now I did, AND IT WORKS!!! OMG!! IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! I tried it on 640x480, CHOPPY AS HELL! Then 512x384, smoother, like 25fps. Then I said "I'll be stupid and put it on 800x600", so I did, and OMG! It's smoother than 640x480! About 15-20fps!! (for me, that's extremely good, I have 500Mhz [below minimal requirements], 128Mb RAM, Voodoo3 3000 16Mb) I put everything else (detail) at low or normal, and it runs ok. The lighting, because my graphics card doesn't support it, is direct lighting, no shadows at all, and the lines are really bad, you know, it's like stairs on all the edges of objects. So on the settings that I have it on, it looks like crap, really, but it works! I played on a bunch of servers, and did pretty well, except that my computer doesn't like to render character models that fast, so it's like really bad lag (I was getting about a 120 ping). Overall, the game is brainless and it's basically a new Quake, so I'm quite thrilled and satisfied. Once I get my new computer, it'll look the way it's meant to be.

Newer video cards actually run WORSE at 640x480 and below than they do at 800x600.

I'm looking at what CPUs (I'll only get AMD) to get in December when I start building my PC. The AMD 2800+ is the best, but the price ($400)...the 2600+ is $300. My question is, what gigahertz is the AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor? I can't find it anywhere, and I want to know if it's so much better than the 2600+ or 2700+. Also, about motherboards, AMD recommends Giga-Byte motherboards. They're nice, but what do you guys think? I like Asus usually, but the Giga-Bytes look really cool, blue boards :D.
