I am not "blind" to drugs' effects. I know what they do. If you smoke or drink every once in a while that doesn't mean you are a pitiful person, nor does it mean you're gonna die 10 years down the road. That's just an excuse you made to make yourself feel better about not doing it.

i think smoking's a total character flaw. drinking... well, i suppose people do use it to 'socialise' but whats that really saying? its saying they either dont have the guts to do what they wanna do without being drunk, or they use the drink as an excuse to do bad things.

none of it interests me, but i dont go on at people to stop.

strangely, i have nothing against cannabis and all that jazz... dunno why.

If some druggy wants to be my friend then they better stop using drugs. If not, I don't need a friend that bad. That's just the way it is with me.

I don't stigmatize people. I know plenty of people that smoke marijuana and drink, regularly. I talk to them at school all the time, I've even sat with them at lunch some quarters. But I don't socialize with them outside of school when they're doing that stuff. It's all very stupid. I'm not going to condone their actions by being their friend.

Oh, I know it's bad for your health. But there's a difference between smoking a pack a day and smoking up (marijuana, friends) every once in a while. And the addiction of Marijuana, for many, doesn't compare to that of cigarettes. I could quit cold-turkey any day I wanted, guaranteed. I can't say the same for my friends who smoke cigarettes.

Moose, drug use may be a pretty important choice, but it's not THAT important. It doesn't define a person. It seems sort of elitist to me that you "grace them" with your presence at lunch sometimes, yet refuse to talk to them outside of school because of their choice. And by being their friends, you aren't "condoning" their drug use. Friendship, for most people at least, is based upon the overall scope of a person and not one life choice. People CAN coexist despite differences of opinion.

Drug use is a very defining characteristic. And it's not the drug use that defines the character, it's the character that defines the drug use. My problem is with the character of the person that uses drugs. And yes, I would be condoning their drug use by being their friend.

You idiot, you just said what ever addict in the world has said: "I can quit any time I want." If you can, then prove it to me. The next time all of your buddies are out smoking marijuana and they offer you a roach or a bowl or a snuff from their bong or whatever it happens to be, refuse. Tell em you're "on a diet." They're high, they'll think it's funny. And the next time you're out with your friends and y'all decide to get a drink, order a Pepsi. PROVE to me that you can quit any time you want by quitting. Don't do any drug or drink any alcoholic beverage for the next month, and then come to me and say you can quit whenever you want to... the problem is, you don't want to. That's the defining character flaw.

Get with life, or smoke it up and be left behind. Either way is fine with me, because either way I'm already far ahead of you.

I believe I may have a "defective drug gene" after seeing what happens to my dad whenever he trie to go fly fishing in water thats over his knees. He gets so dizzy, he nearly has to throw up, and must sit down for at least threee or four hours before he can come back in.
All this happened after he decided to try dope in college. I have yet to see a DNA anylisis to see how similar we are, it is a theory, which is why I will never do drugs. I don't have enough money to buy them if I did do them :P
