Oh, I know it's bad for your health. But there's a difference between smoking a pack a day and smoking up (marijuana, friends) every once in a while. And the addiction of Marijuana, for many, doesn't compare to that of cigarettes. I could quit cold-turkey any day I wanted, guaranteed. I can't say the same for my friends who smoke cigarettes.
Moose, drug use may be a pretty important choice, but it's not THAT important. It doesn't define a person. It seems sort of elitist to me that you "grace them" with your presence at lunch sometimes, yet refuse to talk to them outside of school because of their choice. And by being their friends, you aren't "condoning" their drug use. Friendship, for most people at least, is based upon the overall scope of a person and not one life choice. People CAN coexist despite differences of opinion.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.
