I'm curious, is it possible to change the hard drive of a laptop to something larger? using a laptop hard drive of course. or does it stay there forever? because my current hard drive capacity is 30, and i'd like to increase it to 60. thanks for any response.

p.s. if i can change it, how much approx would it cost for a professional to change it?

If im not mistaken, most computer repair and service places wont touch laptops, too delicate and expensive if they screw it up. You might have to send it back to wherever you got it for upgrades.

Hard drives aren't that hard to upgrade in a laptop. You have to make sure the new hard drive will fit in your hard drive bay first. Some of the new mobile hard drives are a bit thicker than the old ones...

What kind of laptop do you have?

when i worked for a computer place... waaay back in the day, we used to refurbish ibm thinkpads and resell them, you can infact change out most of the stuff in a laptop with minimal fuss.

I just switched out the HD in my wifes old Compaq 1200 laptop. Its almost simpler than changing the HD in a desktop computer.

Or you could always just use a toothbrush.
