American schools are really keen on Ritalin - practically no one in the UK system is on any kind of legalised drug...
Could an american among you explain how the american school systems work? How old are you in high school, and so on?

We start out in kindergarden at age 4, then grades 1-5 are elementary school. At grade 6 you're 11, and through grade 8 is middle school. Grades 9-12 are high school, that's 14-18 years old. After that is college! (hopefully)
And I know, man, at least 20+ people on Ritalin, you can get high if you snort it (which most do...). Doctors actually give out free samples, lol.
So did you cry Sandmann

? I don't see the point in crying over a lost person, I mean, yeah, maybe when they first die, but not years afterward. As Dr. Phil says, "do you think they want you to ruin your life because of their death?".

In american schools, everyone is doped on Ritalin. So you pretty much shuffle around drooling on yourself. The teachers take smoke breaks and complain about not being paid enough.
If you can play football you can graduate without being able to read.
Did I leave anything out?

Ya, you better watch out if you're in an American public school, because if you so much as fidgit or readjust in your seat then they send you to the school nurse (which received her Graduation Equivalency Degree 8 years after she dropped out of highschool) to PRESCRIBE you Ritalin, in which case they give you detentions every 12 minutes and fail you on every test until your parents give in, simply because the teacher's don't understand the concept of making things interesting and that 8 year old kids can't POSSIBLY sit still for 8 hours an entire day, every day of every week for 30 weeks out of the year. All of this because the teacher doesn't want to be there in the first place.
sandmann, that's exactly why I don't participate in any of my church's youth events. They involve having baked potato lunches after church to help raise money in order to camp out in a location 10 miles from the church. However, the youth group meetings are good place to release your frustration, since they involve indoor full contact soccer in the halls and sanctuary of the church after dark with the lights out. I really bashed my youth instructor's glasses into his nose once, on accident of course. Few people understand that those activities are not spiritually fulfilling, however fun they are.

That's why I'm against conventional medication, or atleast one of the reasons. The side effects are worse than what it's trying to cure. I saw this one phm allergy commercial that says it gets rid of headaches but at the end the side effects they scream through include incompetence, kidney failure, bleeding from the rectum, and sexual disorders... I think I'll stick with the headache.

not all american school systems are that bad. all the innercity schools shuck because people dont know the diffrence between a penknife and a pencil. i live in a upper middle class community, (2 story houses, 3 cars in every garage) in my state that is consederd upper middle class but whatever you wana call it we have a good school system. Out teacher a really dedicated and if you dont understand something they will help you out after school or durring a free, grantid we still have out section of town that would be called the getto with the real stupid kids that do the expencive drugs. Thats another problem with our town, drugs are everywhere because of the wealth of this town it is easy for people to their hands on drugs, also kids are getting their cars and lisences at 16 then doing pot and getting drunk and having accedents. we just recently had three kids die in a car accedent because they wasted. at first people where like boo hoo, no body relised they were drunk but after the investigation they found out that they had alterd their drivers lisences and baught alcohal. In their stupidity they had also managed to take the life on an innocent father and his child. that is the part that saddens me.

But back to the topic, I really wonder what Jesus thinks of all this religion we've concocted and all of this stuff we do in his name. I really doubt he'd like things like that youth retreat that your church was a part of, and other things like that. I doubt he likes half the things going on in church... but whatever. Jesus was a pretty laid back person. People need to get to know him more instead of trying to be more churchy.
