Sharing a folder for a friend

Alright, I need to know how to set up a network drive. I want to set it so she can stream mp3's from my computer across the network, and download mp3's straight to my drive, so she doesn't have to keep them on her measely 10gb hd. How would i go about doing this on XP, i want to password protect it, but i want to mount the drive so that she can access her music directly from winamp. I also need to know if this is possible for her because she's on 98.. Thanks guys.

If you're using XP Home, I believe you can't do it (you can't appear to set file permissions, let alone do anything useful with the network)...

If you're using XP Pro, then make an account for her, share the directory making it readable to her account... then on her machine map a drive as \\yourcomputer\yourshare , logging into her machine as the user you made on your box.

On XP Home, you can set folders to share, and map network drives, as I've done this to do the same as chuck and share files. I don't think that you can password protect it, however.

XP Home purposely only lets you share your home DIR to other users.

If you try connecting from outside, or from a Non-Windows box, it'll ask you for a password. For the life of me, I can't get the iBook to connect to XP's filesharing. Though Terminal Services has been a lifesaver to date.
