House Of A Thousand Corpses.

House Of A Thousand Corpses.

I went and seen this movie with my cousins today and I thought it was pretty cheesy. Rob Zombie made the film and you could definately tell. He likes alot of the old 50s horror shows and he reflected that in 1,000 Corpses. The movie was fairly predictable and you just knew that no one was getting out of it alive. It was a very fast paced movie and their was little dialog between the victums. Lots of dialog between the victoms is a must in a horror movie as it builds up an emotional link between the viewer and the character.

If you don't do this then watching the victums being slaughtered is like watching an ant being killed by a spider, you don't care and you would rather them be killed quick just to get it over with because it is so boring. The movie had a bit of dark/psychotic philosophy in it and I thought that was cool. It's always good to see in the mind of a psycho so you can understand his reasoning. The whole movie kept you wondering why they were killing and torturing these people, and I expected something big at the end. But, then the movie just ends and the reason they killed all these people was just because they were insane and it was fun for them. A rather blah plot to the movie if you ask me.

There were tons of gore and blood which was rather stupid, and the only thing neat about the entire movie was the props. They did a very good job on the props but that was it. I watched people as they came out of the theater and everyone I saw was saying how stupid the movie was and what a waste of money it was. I agree. Do not see this movie, it is pure crap. It seems that after the 80s, horror movies have become dumber and dumber. Maybe it just because everything that is scary has alread been made into a movie, or maybe the really good horror writers stick to books and don't even bother with the superficial multimillion dollar machine called hollywood.

I'd imagine it would be a stupid movie. Like the Jason X movie, never saw it, but people said it was stupid and tried to make the gore "comical". The Ring was good, but not scary, I liked the fascinating story of it, and I'm sure that House of 1000 Corpses does a good job in excluding a fascinating story...

jesus, if i made a thread for every crappy film...

anyway, about horror films. i think really the only good ones are texas chainsaw massacre, halloween and uh... well i'm no horror expert so i'll leave it that for now.

but halloween is spoiled by a million sequels and texas massacre has just been remade for no damn reason. crazy. is the shining a horror film?

There aren't to many truly scary movies anymore. They just have people jump out and you and starte some people who aren't paying atention and its over. Some moviews have good plots, but they're not scary. Like the Mothman Prophecies. Not scary. Interesting. But not scary.

I was actually terrified while watching Signs, stupid movie, but that part with the video of the alien walking, and Mel running in the corn field, and the most scary part was when they're in the house, and the aliens are running on top of the house and you hear the fast footsteps. But I was watching this at 1:00AM, it was pitchblack, and one of my cats jumped into my lap right at a scary part and completely freaked me out.

Yes, when watching Independance Day in the movies, just as the ship blew up, the fire alarm went off, and the movie stopped, and the theatre owner shoed us out. That left me shaking.

Signs wasn't that great a movie, I acutally found it comical... especially the litte girl. Now, Minority Report actually left me shaking, for the pure reason that that movie has to be the best movie I've ever seen- and it was exciting. It had a good plot, and it tied up well in the end. Even the ending of precrime felt good- even though it was a major blow for the main character.

Heh, I found The Ring to be the funniest movie of the year, for the sheer idiocy of it all. I think The Ring gave me leprosy it was so bad.

I'd be easier scared by puppies frolicking in a field.
holy internets batman.
