Windows XP Professional Taskbar Errors

Okay, I start my computer, and it starts fine. Then, a weird taskbar glitch happens.

The start menu works fine. The system tray works fine. But I can't right click the taskbar, and no programs show up.

I can resolve it by ending the EXPLORER.EXE process and starting it again, but this is cumbersome to do over and over again each time I start up my computer. If anyone knows how to fix this, could you please help me?

Microsoft Support won't help me, as I have an OEM version of XP, and IBM doesn't know the problem.

Do you have your taskbar locked?

can that make the programs stop showing up?

Hmm... if unlocking it works, it must be a weird xp bug... tell you when I restart my comp, prolly tomorrow morning.
