Because not everyone is as incredibly intelligent and computer savvy as you.

And because they look like real windows to people who aren't on a computer all day.

So... you've been fooled by them as well, I see.

My mom who is far from computer literate knows they're fake.. it's not like it requires a large amount of intelligence to discern them.

well she doesnt know crap about the computer, i just have it set so that she clicks on outlook and her mail comes up, and then she clicks on internet if she wants to read the news or weather, which are in her favorites.

Actually, I have never been fooled by them, but nice jump to a conclusion. I happen to know many people who have, though. And yes, it doesn't require much intelligence to discern them from the real thing, but it does require experience, and that's something many people don't have.

I sometimes click on the ones that have crosshairs.. just to see whatever is moving around explode..

I occasionally go to Gargagames just to waste time blowing birds up.

Lol, my Grandma is the same way. One time I as browsing the net and she was sitting next to me talking to me. One of those "WARNING, YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT SECURE" ads poped up and she about had a cow. I calmed her down and told her that it's just an ad. She kept saying, "are you sure???" LOL!

I was really bored the other day so I watched TechTV's Call For Help. I was laughing my ass off. One guy called up and said that Windows was too hard to learn and wanted to learn DOS first! LOL!

Another person called up asking for a program that let you "program," as he kept calling it, screensavers. The first thing they asked him was if he was a programmer and I thought yeah fucking right like a programmer would call up Call For Help. I was right and this guy had no clue. He kept saying that he wanted a program like PowerPoint, but for screensavers. They told him that there was no such thing although there were some flash based programs that made screensavers. They asked him if he knew Flash, and of course he didn't, so the guy was out of luck. It is so funny how some people are so computer illiterate. Oh well, I guess that's why they made AOL. :D

Why is it hilarious that some people aren't computer-literate? I don't get it.
