Dammit Nintendo, Dammit

Is anybody else upset that Nintendo didn't end up releasing a portable Gamecube at E3? Or am I one of the few people with a Gamecube?

The way I see it, it was their only chance to bring 3D graphics to the portable market before Sony releases their PSP. Having a foothold in the 3D portable market opposed to having one in the 2D market is completely different (practically untouched territory) in my opinion.

On a side note-
Anybody want to sell me a partially-broken Gamecube? It must semi work, but it can have:
-non-working controller 2, 3, or 4 ports
-extreme cosmetic damage
-broken power button
-malfunctioning modem/memory card slots
I plan on making a portable one. Please, nothing that smells. Tell me what you got and I'll make an offer.

Why are you pissed? There never were any solid rumours AFAIK.

I can't hate Nintendo though.. they're bringing both Mother games to the GBA, AND THEY'RE RESERRUCTING MOTHER3 FOR THE GAMECUBE! *wets himself*

Mother? Please enlighten me.

But I'm personally amazed by the tons of GBA/GC connectivity games we've got coming out... 2 Zelda games, that kick-ass Pac-Man, The Sims, FF: Crystal Chronicles...

Oh dang, what is Mother's real name here in the US? Isn't that the cute RPG game with the kids and the stuff? ... EARTHBOUND! Is that it? If so I might buy a GBA just so I can play that game.

But anyway, they make a handle and an attachable screen for the gamecube, don't they? I thought I saw pictures of it. But I don't keep track of consoles, sorry. I left consoles when Sega dropped consoles.

What's wrong with playing Doom on a PC, especially one with tv-out?

Yes they do have a screen and battery pack for a Gamecube. But think about it:
Gamecube: 150
5"screen: 150
Battery: 50
thats 350 bucks just to make it "portable" (its more of a luggable). With a portable hack:
GC: 150
4"LCD: 90
AA batts: 3
Thats uh about 250 to have a handheld gamecube. I dunno, I thought it would be cool.
Portablizing an Xbox? Thats funny.

You COULDN'T use AA's in a project like this, you'd never be able to get enough voltage to run the thing, and even if you did you'd have maybe 20 minutes of battery life.

Uh, yeah I think 8 AA's could power it. Just take off the 7085 thingy and uh yeah it'll work. This guy made it work with a N64. I know it can be done. Otherwise just use a camcorder battery. No I'm not high or stupid.

Well, have fun buying the batteries... 8 AA every 3 hours?

The moving parts on a Gamecube use alot more energy than the solid-state based N64 cartridges.
