I know many here use or have used P2P networks, and now the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), is going after people, as I'm sure you've heard. I found this article and it has a link to a database of people (IDed by IP or username), who the RIAA is so far going after. Check it out.

Ya, they started doing that the first of July... over 250 if I recall correctly have already been tried, the average settlement price is $20,000.

The FBI wouldn't call about a simple Theft of Services. They let the RIAA and the local police handle that.

Anyway, anyone who uses Kazaa/Kazaa Lite nowadays has to be an idiot. In a deal for KaZaA not to get sued, the RIAA has almost taken over all their servers. And even IP-blockers aren't that secure, information (i.e. MAC address) is still broadcasted. Don't think they can't getcha.

Really, if you're so pathetic as to warez, there's plenty of other ways to get free software. Beta testing is only one of them. Some people I know even program games they want to play.

The thing I think is funny is every week another ass tells me theres different things that are "illegal" or something different is "legal." I don't believe any of you. Real MP3 players don't have flash cards anyways, they have hardrives.

My friend got a letter from the RIAA for downloading a movie. They booby-trap movie downloads now.

I don't download movies, and I use Overnet (which pretty much has all the games except for IRC) for all my "game downloading".
