I've been learning to play the guiatr for a little over a month now. I've been using an old Gibson acoustic that my parents had. Its a really nice guitar, but what I really want is electric. My parents agreed to pay half of whatever electric gutiar I get as a Christmas present. Could anyone here who plays reccomend some good brands/models? I'm looking for something around $500 or less preferably, but I could spend more if theres a good enough reason to spend the extra money.

I'd stick with the acoustic. I like it so much more than electric guitars.

Thanks, I'll try and get to the music store tomorrow. Since your saying to try the Les Paul Standard, I'm assuming they don't have the actual Agile in the store?

The Fender Strat is just a good guitar. Nice shape, nice build, good sound, etc. It's just a good entry-level (or even beyond) guitar.

The difference between Mexi and American-made Strats is sound and quality of build. I don't mind the difference that much.
