Reading the SFC will give you migrains.
Listen guy, if you are going to read wacked out left-wing rags, you have to expect that they are going to say things that aren't exactly on the up and up.
The protesters thing can't be verified, I tried and found nothing. Even if it were true I fail to see how "keeping an eye" on subversive members of society is such a bad thing. Its been going on forever. Though, if anywhere you might have had a point, it might be here.
As to the FBI thing, you need to realize the truth of the matter. Up until the mid 90s the FBI had full right and privilege to evesdrop on domestic persons and communicate with the CIA on such matters, but this was limited in regards to ACTUAL CITIZENS. However, Clinton changed that and made it near impossible for the FBI and CIA (and other agencies) to colaborate in regards to known terrorists, thus cripling the intelligence community. The Patriot Act merely backtracked to the older rules and introduced some new rules so that such power could not be abused (it did so in the form of requiring court intervention). Get your facts straight before you go blabbing this type of nonsense.
URSS? You meant USSR.

I think Homeland Security is too far out of control. It's infringing on every citizen's constitutional rights and liberties. Reasonable cause went out the window in regards to searches and seizures when Homeland Security came into effect. There is no reasonable cause as to why I should take my shoes and jacket off when I enter and airport and absolutely no justification for singling me out, admittedly at random, to search my lugagge. That's against my rights as an American citizen. If they find that I have an anotated almanac in my bag then I'm descretely followed, if I have a pair of scissors in there I'm arrested and my bagagge unretrievably confiscated!
Talk about terrorist winning! PFFT! They won the minute that Homeland Defense became a Federal department!
I'd be glad to be on a list of disgruntled citizens, because this isn't the America that I was raised in and this fascist America isn't the America I want my children to know.

Just cause I don't like Bush doesn't mean that the FBI should look after me.

It's already happening. The US is slowly but surely heading towards Orwell's 1984 - Big Brother is indeed watching.
Just think of it. NSA wants a special chip to be built into every electronic device: cellphones, PC's etc. so they could easily spy on your surfing or tap your phone
And now every visitor has to leave a fingerprint behind?? Well Mr. Bush, would you like some blood, DNA, my complete medical history, retinal scan, family tree, etc. while I'm at it?

You people kill me...really. The NSA wants to put a chip in everything...watching too much tabloid tv I say.
As to security, there is no need for any other person from Europe, Africa or the Middle East to talk about too much security. PLEASE! If you've ever flown ANYWHERE outside the US you know that the US is far less invasive than any other civilized and most non-civilized nation. Don't make me laugh.
