Here's a of the custom guitars I made back in the mid-80s when I played in a garage band.

The red guitars (the twins) were made from basswood and are extremely lightweight. They sport EMG pickups (built-in powered preamps) and Schecter/Schaller hardware. The white edge binding was a pain on all three guitars (finishing isn't my forte) but gave the guitars a cleaner look. The guitar on the left is my favorite. It's beat up and could use a good scrubbing (there's lots of finger munge on the neck) but it sounds so sweet. It has a white ash body with a walnut veneer on the top. The back and sides are 30+ coats of hand-rubbed lacquer that looks like the top of a black grand piano.

All of the guitars have Warmouth necks (two have custom 24 fret strat necks that I don't think they make any more). Those necks are rock solid as I haven't had to adjust the truss rod once. I don't play much these days, but I wanted to show you guys a picture of my handiwork from almost 20 years ago.
