My computer is showing a whole lot of cmd.exe and ftp.exe activity and it's refusing to shut down properly until I end those processes. XP's built in Firewall service is disabled and I can't get the service to reactivate, a dependency service or group keeps failing and I can't find one of its dependencies that isn't already running. Can someone suggest a free third party firewall program? I ran TrendMicro Virus and there are no virii on my computer so it must be someone exploiting a backdoor, probably to launder warez.

Well, Zone Alarm is supposed to be very good, but it caused me some trouble once, so I used SyGate Personal firewall after that.
Both are free (at least I think Sygate's f/w is still free too).

Kerio Personal Firewall. Everything else sucks.
You should run Trend Micro's housecall, a free online antivirus. Google for it, don't have it offhand.

I already did. I even said that.
My router has logs of some weird IPs and ports doing stuff but they've all been blocked.
