Electronic Arts Need For Speed: Underground was one of the biggest selling games of last year, and EA isn't exactly renowned for letting licenses gather dust; thus speculation on the next title in the acclaimed series has already reached fever pitch.
In a further twist, it has emerged that EA has registered the web domain www.needforspeedmostwanted.com, prompting speculation that the company is working on a title of the same name.
A spokesperson for EA's UK office refused to comment on the matter.
The registration of the domain name suggests this is a title EA is at the very least considering; however, with the incredible success of Underground (far outstripping sales of the Hot Pursuit offshoot of the series), EA is clearly more likely to be concentrating on a sequel to its most recent success than an entirely new venture, with a showing at E3 far from out of the question.
