'Bout $60, from Walmart. Worth every penny. It can detect a cop from over a mile away. More so on the highway, even 2 - 3 miles away.

Just today, I was going 45mph (72 km/h) in a 40mph (65km/h) zone, and my radar detector starts screaming so I wack the brakes down to about 38mph (61 km/h) as I see the cop hiding behind a tree. The guy behind me was a bit behind me so he wasn't concerned that I just hit the brakes and he continued his 45mph. As he passed a few seconds later, out comes the cop to nab him for a stupid 5mph (8 km/h)...

[EDIT] Lasers? They've been using those for a while, but they're pretty rare. They're usually used on helicopters and airplanes, but cops will use handheld ones. And if you're wondering "how can a helicopter pull me over?", well, they don't, they beam you a laser and take your picture doing it, then send you the ticket in the mail. Same thing as the cameras at intersection lights.

Sounds good. I really need to get one. Haven't gotten a ticket as of yet (my first and only wreck was in a parking lot) but I am about due so I need to start watching out.

I've been driving for 2 years, mostly on backroads where cops love hiding everywhere. I see about 3 cars pulled over EVERY DAY in front of my house (25mph zone). At my school (a stupid 15mph zone), I see someone pulled over there everyday (and it's ALWAYS a crazed mother speeding to get the child to school on time, it's NEVER a student). I never drive over 55mph on backroads, I usually drive at 80-100mph on the highway, and I enjoy doing the occasional handbrake drift turn and peeling out and have never been pulled over. I have many friends and classmates who have gotten over 5 tickets.

This is the one I have, it's $40, so I guess that's what I paid, I don't remember, but whatever is it, it's a million times better than a ticket and extra insurance!!

K40 Undetectable:

It comes with plate frames that defuse the laser beam so the cop just thinks he missed if he tries to clock you. No visible parts, either. Just two LEDs that are mounted inside the gauges. The sensors are mounted in the bumpers.

I like it mostly because it's a cool techno gadget. I rarely go more than 5 over the limit on city roads.

It's about $1500 for the parts. They prefer that you have a professional install it, too. The warranty includes a one year speeding ticket reimbursement, so if you do get pulled over then you don't have to worry about the ticket.

Moose: Just a little over my budget. If I had that much on hand to spend right now I would already have my bodykit. :P
