I think the FireGL is *WORSE* for gaming for some reason.

Centrino is just a P4-m proc with a certain mobo, and certain wireless card, all integrated into the laptop. No antennaes sticking out.

Your laptop probably has ethernet built in too, no need for network adapters.

Processor is definitely not worth $300 for 100mhz.

Don't know what's with the port replicator.

1) I don't know about docks... get the one with an extra battery and USB. :P

2) If the price difference isn't that big between the FIREGL and the 9600, I'd get the FIREGL.

3) Centrinoes battery life is outstanding, I'd go with that.

4) Well, you're probably going to need a wireless network...

5) I don't think so...

6) The speed difference with 100MHz is completely unnoticable, unless there's some FSB change in there. I'd go with the 1.7GHz.

:::EDIT:::

Darn you spongie, you beat me to it.

I suggest you buy another computer.

The Centrino wireless sucks. The processor is great -- Pentium M, but I've had never ending problems with my Centrino 802.11b card. I ended up just buying a TrueMobile 1300 (b/g) on eBay and replacing it myself.
