Yeh more ram is a good thing, 512 is normaly fine for everything, but anything more is a bonus.

If you normally have lots of disk thrashing, that 512mb will make a difference. Otherwise, no.

The question is..would it be better just using the higher clocked ram of 512, than using the 1 gig of slower clocked ram.... I don't know the answer either
You're best off just testing yourself.

trial and error is usually the best way- just don't shock the ram or try to put it in backwards...
I seriously know someone whose computer started smkoing cause they put the ram in backwards :-p
