How rude am I?

How rude am I?

Postby chuck » Mar 28, 2005 @ 6:02am

So I just finished up a review for this band Far-Less for the website I work for. Eh, I've gotten some complaints that it's too blunt and kinda rude. What do you guys think?

Pretty much, I think they suck. I actually know the band and they're generally nice dudes, but they should stop playing music together.

yes. next topic.

Anyway, bit harsh definitely, sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder. They're wrong in whining, though.

i listened to the 2 songs on their website and actually what kills me is the production value. In all their songs i hear pink noise (digital distortion)
This may be from the streaming....

The review was brutal but hey that’s your job. I think the tunes on their website were brutal as well

hey chuck on another note if you feel like critiquing (or anyone else here for that matter) my bands music i would really appreciate it .. we are trying to get grant $$$ to record a real disk.. so any pointers would be helpful.

Well, I was going to say "How bad could it be?", and then I listened to their music.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

I'm saying, I really do believe that stuff it wasn't meant as an insult. My other reviews aren't as bad. I just really don't like that band at all.

For instance, this is another band on their label and they actually don't suck horribly:

and here's my review of the new brighteyes which i thought wasn't very good:

I generally stand by my review. I feel I've edited it to be as nice as possible while still displaying my true opinion.

You gave valid reasons for why they suck. So no, it's not too rude. Although this was a bit unecessary:

"I guessing they actually meant the opposite, because from where I’m standing it looks like they, along with most of the bands in their crowded genre are heading face first straight to hell."
Two cupcakes were in an oven. One turned to the other and said "Damn, it sure is hot in here" and the other one said "HOLY SHIT! A TALKING CUPCAKE!"

Yeah, I didn't think they were as horrible as you made them seem. But I'm not going to be listening to them any time this decade.
Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

I'm with Sandy. It didn't read like a professional review. ... Use bigger words and more exotic references.
