PocketGamer.org - opinions wanted!

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of replacing the current games listings format at PocketGamer.org with a new, simpler (hopefully easier-on-the-eye!) style:
http://www.pocketpcgames.net/action/test2.shtml

Contrast this with the current format:
http://www.pocketpcgames.net/action/index.shtml

I know it's not earth-shatteringly important, but if you could just post a brief note saying whether you think the new format is OK or not, I'd greatly appreciate it! Needless to say, be as critical as you like...

Also, if something doesn't look right, please let me know! Please tell me what browser you're using, what OS and what screen resolution.

Thanks!

Mike,
I like the new one better 'cause it looks better when the games aren't just devided by lines

I like the old one better, the one with the orange tables listing the games. It is more colorful and easier to tell when a game ends and a new one begins. It's ... tighter together. Better that way.

Everything looks cool, but I don't see a 10/10 beside Pocket Quake

this one :

http://www.pocketpcgames.net/action/test2.shtml

is ugly, please don't use it. I don't mind you changing the look a bit, but if it's between these two; stick with the one we have now (the second one).

The current one is actually much easier on the eyes. The colors make it much easier to read the title and divide the games much better.

Alot of white space in that wide of a format is difficult to look at.

The old one has my vote, the black text on white background has always givin me a headache:(

I like this one better than the "test2." And I think I like it better than the old one, not just because it looks better, but because change is good. And the light blue sticks with your color scheme while making the page softer on the eyes.

But of course thats just my opinion:)

test3 is better and easier to read than test2. I still think I like the original better though, because it uses large blocks of color.

i agree with randall, i still like the old one better; black on white backgrounds just doesn't appeal to me.

Mike:

I see where you're headed with version 3 and I have to say I like it.

It still needs some tweaking, but the new flavor is definately Fresh. It has a very clean Japanese look to it, me likey. The color contrasts are perfect as well. Good color combinations can make a design just come together, and you've got that part down nicely.

I'm sure with a little more tweaking, the whole page will come together beautifully.

Keep the old one Mike. It has more of an appeal and is easier to read.

i never said it wasn't fresh

I agree with 999 that it's good to have change, make sthe site look, well, renewed and fresh. Like that new car smell... ahhhhh...

so you can go with a new idea, but i personally just don't like the black on white. Maybe use the same type of design, but different colors.
