Thanks alot Chris for the link. My PC is now officially fighting cancer! And I'm now a member of the Pocket PC team. I hope this program really can and will find a cure for cancer. 3 people in my family have had cancer. My grandma on my mom's side had ear cancer, and is now fully healed :D , my grandma on my dad's side had breast cancer and is now fully healed :D , but my aunt got uteran cancer about 14 years ago, and she died 2 years later.

I have the SETI@Home client to help search for extraterrestrials 8O as my screensaver. It may be a bit more heartless than curing cancer but its really cool and I have had it for a while. If anyone wants that you can get it here

"The SETI@home program is a special kind of screensaver. Like other screensavers it starts up when you leave your computer unattended, and it shuts down as soon as you return to work. What it does in the interim is unique. While you are getting coffee, or having lunch or sleeping, your computer will be helping the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence by analyzing data specially captured by the world's largest radio telescope."

I'm obssesed... maybe curing cancer is a little more important though

Yeah, well, there is always the possibility of aliens having a cure to cancer. Just not a very good one.

However, I wholeheartedly agree with this campaign. My grandad developed prostate cancer about 3 years ago and is still going strong, and my auntie has non-Hodgkins lymphoma, but is hopefully in remission.

In fact, I think I'll post a brief news article on the PocketGamer.org homepage... this is a worthy cause that everyone should participate in.

My family history is riddled with cancer. *All* of my grandparents died from cancer of some form or other:

lung cancer x 2
prostate cancer
cancer of some sort (I don't know which, but it actually caused a heart-attack and saved a lot of suffering)

Can't run it though 'cos neither port 80 or port 443 are open on the firewall here at work. :(

Meh, both are important. Maybe we'll contact aliens and they'll have a cure for cancer. I'm in the PocketPC Cancer screensaver thing, now though. Sounds like a worthy cause. I had over 1380 hours on SETI, but I haven't had it installed for about two years.
