The reason to get his IP was to block him from the boards.

Next time you don't need to ask for the ip, just send a file, open the dos prompt and type netstat, it'll be apparent which address is the person you're sending it to. If it gives an ip mask, just ping that mask and it'll reveal the ip.
Him being a "well respected hacker" should have known that.
And the email can be fake if you register for a .net account with a false email.

Hell no, I remember him posting in the warez thread in the developer section, so I just said that to make myself look big. Like I said I was BSing most of it just to get an IP address for Chris.

DNS the hosts, then ping 'em. Sometimes will work better. In moose's case it wouldn't have mattered

Packet loggers also work, for an extra insurance.

BTW, why can't any of these people ever bother me? :(

Could be a script kiddie and sneak sub7 in there.
