Wireless questions

Rob's been helping me out with this, but I'm still a little lost. Ok, here's the thing, I want to share a highspeed account between three houses (including the hub house). The hub house is less than 300 feet away from one of the other two houses, and about 1300 feet away from the other house. I want to use 802.11b (yes I know about interference and all that, but just go with me), but I need the wireless router to be able to send the signal the 1300 feet to the other house. Rob and I were looking at http://www.winningimages.com/cat-net/wireless.html for the things I need, but neither of us know if they make something that go that far. I'm completely lost on what I need, and what products to get, keep in mind I have some, but not loads of money to spend on this. I'm really not worried about security all that much considering I live way out in the country, and I doubt many people are going to go through there looking for a network to hack. Anywho, what should I get for a router, and for the wireless cards.

Unless you string up a few access points, I do not know of any 802.11 cards that will go 1300 feet, without some modifications (ie large antennae pointing at destination)

Get an aluminum roast bean can, hit a nail horizontally through the side so the center is in the exact middle of the inside of the can. Tie a Cat5 network cable to the plug and plug that into the Uplink on your wireless router. That will amplify the signal far enough. Get another one on the other side and viola.

There are SEVERAL tutorials online to do this, even tutorials on how to use a DirecTV dish.

I'd suggest you get three wireless routers and uplink them together through network cable, if you've got the dough. That's the best, but most expensive option.

The pringles can style antenna will get that far of a range? Hm, didn't know it was THAT far.

That page showed an access point that went 1800 feet, so is there any way we could rig that up to recieve the signal from the modem, and shoot it out to the other house? And no, we don't have to worry about trees or anything, it's mostly beans and corn out here.

You'll still need three wireless access points, even with your pringles can.
