Yeah, it's pagan. It looks like one of those things that the Church "adopted" so that they have a festival the same day as everybody else. In the dictionaries it's "All Saints' Even".

I've been so busy with work recently that without your post I wouldn't have know it was Halloween this week.

(Though all-saints day
is a day off here... but I'll be working
