It was a DES hash, which can be done in seconds with an MPEG2 card. Though the password isn't guaranteed to be right.

Usually if your running Linux, your not the typical Joe User, which is the exact opposite case with Macs. It's much like XP having the default user an admin, it can be very dangerous, even to others on the net. Like I pointed out before, school networks too.
