"Buy Nothing Day"?

"People like to think when we buy something, we're helping the economy, but the idea we're also killing the planet is not something they've thought about."

That's one of the lamest things I've ever heard. Take a look at the results of the previous depressions in history (how did those depressions start? people stopped investing/spending money). How the hell was that a good thing? Sure the economy bounced back up but we don't WANT another depression.

I'm sure half of these protestors will park their BMWs and mercedes on their way to go protest against people spending money. Spending money IS good; against their argument: it's easier to help the planet when we HAVE money :)

What do you think?

I'm sorry, but I don't buy any of those arguments.*

* But I do make bad puns. (Exits stage left, sharpish)

VI, there is nothing but humanity. So just because I don't buy Krispy Kreme donuts tomorrow morning then the endangered red wolves of South Dakota will suddenly flourish? Give me a break!
