I need to delete some files of my hard drive, divx movies, but whenever i go to delete them it says they're in use and i'm not using them. this happens wenever i try to play an incomplete divx movie. i relize that i could get a 95 boot disk and delete them in dos but with xp i was hopeing there was an easyer way. btw command promp wont work cause you're mearly emulating dos in nt based systems. Any help would be great. THX

I'm happy to see that's not just happening to me. Maybe XP lock media files for fun ;)

hummm...i may be on to something... i logged on using a diffrent account and it let me delete the one of the files...

moose: btw it dosent let me rename them bacause they're in use and rebooting does nothing, for me at least.

sponge: no progs like that in my task manager.

mzguy: what os are you using? because nt emulates dos it most likely wont work.

oh ya sometimes if you drag-delete(drag the file to the trash can) it works. this is the only problem with divx movies i have but what can you do...
