Is there a way to disable the "Guest" account in Win9x? Because that's what the Cancel button takes you to. Check in User Accounts or User Settings in Control Panel to see if you can disable guest accounts.
I just checked in WinXP Home and I have my Guest Account set to off, so that you have to log in to an account, except I only have one account, my administratorship, and it has no password and automatically logs me on.

Yeah, been doing some reading, found out you can't access any shared files when you hit cancel.
Also remembered that when you hit cancel, it doesn't log you in as an account, just a blank name.
I also found a fix before I found the above out. Here it is if anyone will need it. Involves a little registry editting:
Registry Settings:
Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon]
Value Name: MustBeValidated
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

That reg key is interesting, but what does it do when you actually hit cancel? Or is the cancel button completly gone now.

It doesn't say where I found it, but will try it out when I get to school tomorrow.
My guess is that when you hit cancel, the login box just flashes/refreshes once, making the cancel button completely useless.

With the reg-key activated, it says the user could not be validated on the network. Yay!
