The Fate of the Union

Who'll bet with me that Tuesday in the state of the union address that Bush is going to declare war... and then cut taxes to sugar coat it and "boost the economy," because, as we all know, "tax cuts are one of the anecdotes for a poor economy."

Maybe I should join the Air Force now so if they start the draft up then I'll be able to get into the department I want anyway.

But there is NOTHING else that Bush can say. He's run into a wall and can't do anything but tell his cowboy delegation to get out their pick axes. And guess what, we're going to lose France as an ally, the most important ally we've had since the war for independence. France, right now, is more anti-America than they are anti-Iraq.
We'll know for sure what's going to happen on Monday when the UN Weapons Inspectors report their findings. But even if they haven't found anything, Bush can't say much on Tuesday except "we're going to war."

Bush is such an ass faced cowboy. Does he even think about what he says? This is like having ME as a President! All this bravado and nothing to show for it. Atleast the situation with Korea has calmed down.

Israel won't shoot nukes, period. And even if they for some stupid reason do, they aren't going to shoot them at American troops! That deserves an OY!

Israel has also developed and commissioned the anti-missile missile, called the Arrow. With these missiles, Iraq isn't going to be able to land any rockets or missiles they fire. These things can take out a sidewinder in midair...

I think the first question to be asked is "Does the world think Saddaam Hussein should go?" From what I've seen is that the answer to that question from most people in the world is "yes". If that's true then it's just a disagreement as to what involvment the US will have in making that happen.

The Bush administration has repeatedly said that war is not inevitable. War is a last resort of convincing Hussein that the game is up. The recent amass of military build-up in the Persian Gulf is to show Saddaam something he understands. He's not going to take anyone seriously until he sees tanks at his border. He's probably watching those Peace Marches on CNN and laughing his head off.

Something I'm curious about is why aren't countries like France and Germany begging Saddaam to step down rather than begging Bush to not go to war? Do they not want Saddaam to leave Iraq? I would think they must realize how much of a threat he is to the volatile Middle East region and to the world if he continues with his weapons programs. France could offer to build him a palace in their wine country. Let him share the place with Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, and Alec Baldwin and that would suit me just fine. :)

The current UN sanctions against Iraq will never be lifted as long as Saddaam is in power. If the Peaceniks truly cared about the welfare of the people of Iraq, they would be marching with a sign that said "No War!" on one side and "Saddaam Must Go!" on the other. I think those two goals go hand-in-hand.
