....uh--yeah. um. Get theintegrated 802.11b one. I mean, you can always get another card if you have to and since you're already spending a lot for the Tablet PC, I'd do it. I mean, you'd be like the only one with a (g) access point, and doesn't the Tablet PC have a built-in ethernet jack, anyways?

Yeah. Where's the cheapest access point that you guys have come up with and what's the price (incl. shipping)? I want to see if I can get like 2 or 3 APs and put like one in my dorm and the other(s) in (a) key place(s) around my college (like in the Physics department lab area, the Dining Center, and maybe elsewhere). That'd be really nice to be able to use wifi more places. Here at my school, once your MAC address on your device is registered, all you really have to do is plug in whatever and it works.

My college already has WiFi APs in a bunch of places, but that's only in a few of my classes' rooms. I want to waste my time on the internet ALL THE TIM--*interupted* *blushes, hands teacher e740 PPC and promises to never do that again* *gets it back after class and pushes the "SUBMIT" button*

I was going to buy a single WAP and just plug it in at a port whatever classroom I was in, but I never bothered to do that.

I have just enough one of my bank accounts for a TabletPC ... so that probably means I shouldn't buy it. But, "I have the wants," and I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to buy it! Oi! It's so impossible to resist!

Is there some great new technology coming out like super bright LCDs that don't take any power at all, or some 3 GHz CPU that uses less energy than a 200MHz XScale? Or maybe some kind of psychic screen digitizer pointer that doesn't use batteries? Something significant that will make me want to wait to buy new Tablets down the road because I'm going on vacation in like two weeks and I SO want to buy a new something to take with me. PLEASE for the love of GOD tell me something new is coming out so I can resist spending my money now!!!

Okay... I'm sitting here on my living room floor on a WiFi connection streaming music to my surround system and sometimes the signal drops to half strength. For absolutely no reason. Noise level stays absolutely still at -94 but every 3 seconds the signal just degrades for an instant. And now it has steadily degraded to a mediocre signal that drops to poor... and now it just shot back up to normal. What on earth is going on? I'm downloading heavily on my desktop, could that be tying up the network? I'm streaming from my desktop, too... but that wouldn't effect the signal, just the speed of the stream. It's the signal that's bad for just instances. Any ideas at all? It's kind of annoying.

[edit] I just rose it about a foot, no difference. I thought it might be the angle, that my laptop is sitting flat on a tile floor.
And don't forget to tell me that something cool is coming out so I will be willing to wait to buy a Tablet.
