"ain't" ain't a word, people just use it. Same thing with "y'all". It's not a word but I use it all the time, because it means what I want and nothing else does.

But I'm from that South. "You all" isn't proper either. "All of you" is proper, but it doesn't mean the same thing as "y'all". "All of you" is plural. "Y'all" is singular collective.
